Regulatoryverification.

A recommendation is only useful if the ingredient can legally go in your food. Every company on the platform is checked, and every listing is cross-checked for sale and food use in the US.

How we work

What gets on the platform

We keep the rules simple. A color has to be cleared for food use in the US. Precision fermentation colors stay off until they are cleared. We do not list raw materials, and a product needs a technical data sheet.

If something slips through, we audit it and remove it immediately.

Why a permitted color still needs a closer look

FDA color listings are specific. Many are limited to named food categories, some carry use caps, and an ingredient can be listed for one food and not another. Beetroot red is a good example: FDA published the listing in February 2026, then delayed it indefinitely after objections.

So we treat regulatory status as a check on the specific use, not a yes or no on the ingredient.

Questions R&D teams ask

Do you list colors that are not cleared in the US?

No. Only colors cleared for food use in the US are eligible, and precision fermentation colors stay off until they are cleared.

What happens if a listing turns out to be wrong?

We audit it and remove it immediately.

Does verification replace our regulatory team?

No. DyeConverter is a decision-support tool. Final label, legal and safety decisions stay with your qualified experts.
